PORTLAND — Question 2, which sought to amend zoning at the Portland Co. complex at 58 Fore St., was defeated Tuesday night by a 11,793 to 7,002 vote.
The referendum, written by members of Save the Soul of Portland, would have also required the city to establish as task force to evaluate city scenic sites for possible protection and developers seeking zoning changes to provide more information about land use as part of the application process.
