BRUNSWICK — Retired U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Anthony Zinni will deliver a talk, “Current Threats to U.S. Security,” April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Bowdoin College’s Kresge Auditorium in the Visual Arts Center.

Zinni is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran and served as commander in chief of the U.S. Central Command, responsible for all U.S. forces in the Middle East and Central Asia, from 1997-2000.

In 2002, he was selected to be a special envoy to Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and he also served as a U.S. envoy to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in 2017, seeking to resolve the Qatar crisis.

Zinni’s lecture is a part of Bowdoin’s Everett P. Pope Lecture Series, which is supported by the Bowdoin Marine Corps Society and allows the Bowdoin community to engage with foreign policy and national security practitioners and experts.
