BRUNSWICK—Yvette Mailhot Dumont, 95, died peacefully Oct. 29, surrounded by her family. Born in Bromptonville, Quebec, Canada, Dumont was one of eight children and came to the United States in 1923.
Dumont was a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church, and volunteered for many years at St. Paul’s Soup Kitchen and Pineland. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and worked at Auerbach Shoe Factory until she retired.
She was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Joseph Dumont Jr.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Dumont, Pauline Lauer, Rachel Beaupre, Philip Dumont and Michael Dumont; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 6, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick, with interment in St. John’s cemetery, Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
