YARMOUTH — A Town Charter amendment preventing school and town employees from serving on the town council passed 3,088 “yes” votes to 2,147 “no” votes Tuesday, according to unofficial results.

A Rental Dwelling Ordinance establishing a Rental Housing Advisory Committee and requiring landlords to give tenants 75 days’ notice before a rent increase also passed narrowly with 2,423 “yes” votes to 2,390 “no” votes.

Voters also passed three bond questions.

The first approved the town borrowing $8.5 million to build a public safety facility on North Road, with 3,350 “yes” votes and 1,910 “no” votes.

The second was a two-part school bond question. The first part asked voters to authorize borrowing $40 million for the renovation and expansion of Yarmouth Elementary School and passed with 3,168 “yes” votes and 2,091 “no” votes.

The second part asked voters to approve an additional $12.2 million for construction and expansion of Rowe School, Harrison Middle School, and a roof project at Yarmouth High School. It passed with 2,900 “yes” votes and 2,049 “no” votes.
