A light rain didn’t deter people from gathering for the rededication of the Beth Condon Memorial Butterfly Garden in Yarmouth on Saturday, Aug. 2, in Yarmouth. The garden, behind Yarmouth Town Hall, has nectar-rich plants and shrubs to attract and feed butterflies. It was created in memory of Elizabeth Condon, a 15-year-old Yarmouth girl who was hit and killed on U.S. Route 1 by a drunk driver on Aug. 28, 1993. Over the past 21 years, the Beth Condon Pathway has been added to and greatly expanded, offering a safe U.S. Route 1 walking path.
