Mobile snowmobile
12/28 at 8:38 p.m. A resident of West Elm Street came home to find his snowmobile, which had been in the back of his truck, on the ground near his truck. Police report someone tried to remove the snowmobile, but did not get very far.
Pole position
1/1 at 1:35 a.m. Police report a resident of North Carolina who was driving a Jeep went off the road on Cousins Street past Sandy Point Road. The driver allegedly used his 4-wheel drive to get out of the ditch and, in the process, reportedly snapped a utility pole guide cable and broke the pole in half. According to the police report, the driver was unaware of the damage he caused until he was contacted. Police report there was about $1,000 in damage to the utility pole.
