YARMOUTH — Gov. Paul LePage has nominated a Yarmouth lawyer to be a District Court judge.
Jed J. French, a managing partner at Freeport-based Powers & French, was nominated by LePage on Monday.
French has been a partner at his firm since 1994. He is also a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force/Air National Guard.
According to a press release from LePage’s office, the Legislature’s Judiciary Committee will hear the nomination and public hearings will be scheduled.
