Yarmouth’s Sara D’Appolonia, who scored 33 goals and led the Clippers to a perfect season and a repeat Class B state championship last fall, was named Monday as Maine’s girls’ soccer Gatorade Player of the Year. D’Appolonia, an All-American last season, who is preparing to play next fall at the University of Delaware, is the first Yarmouth girl to be honored.
