PORTLAND — Repairs to a taxiway at the Portland International Jetport are expected to make life noisier for some area residents.

The city announced Tuesday that the work planned from May 14-June 15 will require a change in flight patterns and have more aircraft taking off and landing over some areas of the city, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough.

“This is the second phase of a project we started last year,” Airport Director Paul Bradbury said in a press release. “Just like last summer, we recognize that this project will impact a number of residents who don’t normally experience aircraft taking off or landing over their homes in the early morning or late evening.”

The work specifically impacts aircraft that normally take off to and land from the west. Complaints about Jetport noise can be made online at https://bit.ly/2pDNrzH.
