YARMOUTH — In the closely watched Senate District 11 race, incumbent Sen. Dick Woodbury, U-Yarmouth, pushed past Republican Chris Tyll early Wednesday to win in one of the most expensive races in the state.

Woodbury beat Tyll with a vote of 13,011 to 11,666.

This will be Woodbury’s second term in the senate after winning an election in 2010 , unseating Sen. Gerald Davis, R-Falmouth. He also served in the House of Representatives from 2002-2008.

Tyll, whose campaign spent more than $72,000 on the election, compared to Woodbury’s $11,400, would have been serving his first term for elected office.
