BATH — Police said a 33-year-old Bath woman who jumped off the Sagadahoc Bridge Tuesday was conscious and responsive when pulled from the Kennebec River by rescuers.
A passerby reported seeing the woman standing over the rail on the Bath-Woolwich bridge at about 6:20 p.m.
Bath police and firefighters, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Bath Iron Works security responded. The woman, who police said had had a disagreement with her boyfriend, jumped just before the officers arrived.
BIW security officers in a patrol boat pulled the woman from the water. She was brought to Waterfront Park and transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with unknown injuries.
Police declined to identify the woman.
