Although a lack of snow canceled this year’s WinterRush festival in Portland, the Polar Bear 5K and Freezin’ for a Reason Dip went on as scheduled on Feb. 13. The weather was bright and sunny, but judging from the dippers’ faces, the water at East End Beach was still cold as heck.
