CAPE ELIZABETH — Runners still hoping to compete in the 2018 TD Beach to Beacon 10K on Aug. 4 can still register for a bib with this year’s beneficiary, WinterKids, in exchange for fundraising.

Along with WinterKids, 16 former beneficiaries will participate in this year’s charity bib program, in which organizations can obtain race entries to utilize fundraising efforts. The program has generated more than $1.6 million for Maine charities since the race began almost 21 years ago.

Together with the annual $30,000 cash donation from the TD Charitable Foundation to the designated race beneficiary, the race’s total support for Maine nonprofit organization that helps children now exceeds $2.2 million.

The race sold out last month after 4,600 slots were filled online and another 1,950 via lottery, meaning the best way in for those who still want a bib is through the charity bib program.

Runners are encouraged sign up with WinterKids at TD Beach to Beacon’s fundraising page.
