TOPSHAM — William W. Perry, 66, died at his home on Aug. 30.

He was born March 2, 1949, in Brunswick, the son of Francis and Margaret Powers Perry. He graduated from Falmouth High School in 1967 and the University of Maine in 1971, and earned an M.B.A. from New Hampshire College in 1989.

He married Elaine Menard, of Brunswick, on Feb. 13, 1988.

Perry worked in corporate finance for nearly 30 years, serving as an accountant with Pejepscot Paper, a controller for Statler Tissue, and chief financial officer with Enefco International and with Gerrity Industries. He retired in 2014.

Outside of his professional career, Perry was a diving instructor, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a photographer for the Maine Mariners hockey team and a certified U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat Crew member. From 1984-1988, he served on the board of directors of School Administrative District 75, and was treasurer of the Maine APICS chapter for 15 years.

Perry was passionate about John Deere tractors, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, boating, computers, his barn, his cats and most of all, his family.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of Topsham; a daughter, Emily K. Perry, of Vero Beach, Florida; a stepson, Matthew Lafreniere and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Baltimore; a sister, Katherine E. Perry, of Brunswick; a brother, Mark E. Perry, of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Lola Rose Lafreniere; a nephew, Kurt F. Perry; his father- and mother-in-law, Gerard and Valencia Menard; and a large extended family.

A memorial service was held Sept. 4 at Brackett Funeral Home, in Brunswick, followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
