South Portland’s Cody Munson, playing for the West, blocks an East rusher during Saturday’s 24th annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic. The East prevailed, 25-13, to cut the West’s advantage in the all-time series to 17-7. A record $94,000 was raised for the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Scarborough’s Dillon Russo seeks running room. The West had its chances, but couldn’t take advantage of five East turnovers.

“We knew the turnover battle was going to have a lot to do with this game, and we were able to create some,” said West head coach Steve Stinson, of South Portland. “All of the credit in the world goes to the East. We weren’t scoring for a reason.”
