BRUNSWICK — Webster D. “Webb” Haney, 87, died Aug. 24 at his home surrounded by family.
On May 18, 1922, he was born in Brunswick, the son of Frank and Ruth (Goodenow) Haney and attended local schools.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
On Aug. 10, 1946, he married Gertrude Harmon.
Known as a “jack of all trades,” he worked his entire life as a clam digger and spent 20 years working for the Brunswick Public Works Department.
He enjoyed telling jokes and his golden retrievers, Mariah and Molly.
In 1992, he was predeceased by a son, Roger Haney.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude of Brunswick; a sister, Wanita Richards of Brunswick; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at Maquoit Cemetery, Maquoit Road, Brunswick.
Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
