CAPE ELIZABETH — Water main maintenance that is expected to last two months began this week. Work will take place from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
Work includes flushing, a process that uses a high velocity flow of water in the opposite direction of natural flow to clean the water supply system. Users may notice brief periods of water discoloration, according to Portland Water District.
If users experience any change in water quality following maintenance activities or have security concerns regarding PWD employees, they are encouraged to call 761-8310. For more information on the location of work crews, visit pwd.org/workzone.
