Tyler Walsh, the son of legendary University of Maine hockey coach Sean Walsh, has been named the new boys’ hockey coach at North Yarmouth Academy. Walsh, who replaced Eric Graham, who took an assistant coach role at Bowdoin College, has previously served as the Director of Hockey Operations at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York and as an assistant coach with the USA Hockey National Development Program U-18 team in Plymouth, Michigan.
“I have great passion for hockey in the state of Maine as well as developing players moving on to the collegiate level,” Walsh said. “Maine is home for me. Always has been and always will be.”
“I heard wonderful things about Tyler during the search and interview process and it proved to be true when the committee had a chance to meet him,” said NYA athletic director Jack Hardy. “I believe his communication skills, personality and ability to connect with his staff, parents and student-athletes will go unsurpassed.”
