SCARBOROUGH — Town officials attributed a delay in releasing vote tabulations to a new counting system and expect election results to be released by late morning on Nov. 7.
Deputy Town Clerk Tracy Cole said they were hoping to finish counting by about 10:30 a.m. At about 7 p.m. last night, Town Clerk Yolande “Tody” Justice said voter turnout was at 75 percent with almost 15,300 voters registered. Almost 1,000 voters registered yesterday.
Along with races for President, U.S. Senate and the Maine 1st Congressional District, local voters cast ballots in two Maine Senate and two Maine House contests, and for three town council seats and three school board seats.
Along with four state referendum questions, local voters also decided on a $900,000 bond for a new ladder truck for the Black Point Fire Station.
