SCARBOROUGH — Rep. Amy Volk, R-Scarborough, won her Maine House District 127 race over Democratic challenger Paul Aranson Nov. 6, and a state recount of the election conducted in Augusta on Wednesday afternoon.
Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers announced recount results show Volk defeated Aranson 2,728 to 2,716 in the district comprised of the eastern section of Scarborough. Volk will be serving her second term in the seat.
The recount added votes to Volk’s to the previous official total of 2,725 to 2,720. Initial unofficial results released by Scarborough Town Clerk Yolande “Tody” Justice on Nov. 7 gave Volk a 2,441 to 2,423 win.
