PORTLAND — In the wake of the shootings Sunday morning at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, EqualityMaine and Pride Portland will hold a candlelight vigil outside City Hall at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

“We were shocked and horrified by the events in Orlando this weekend. This was an act of terror and of hate that specifically targeted LGBT people,” state Rep. Matt Moonen, D-Portland, executive director of EqualityMaine, said in a press release.

Mayor Ethan Strimling and local faith leaders are expected to attend the vigil. Portland City Hall is at 389 Congress St.
