BRUNSWICK — Vida M. Henry, 75, died Feb. 9 at her home.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Sept. 8, 1938, the daughter of Stephen and Anna Dvorak Szaraz. She attended primary and secondary school in Bedford, Ohio before attending St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Ind., and graduating from Ohio University with a degree in English.

On Sept. 24, 1961, she married Richard A. Henry, who died April, 3, 2003.

Henry worked at John Hancock Insurance Company for more than 20 years, in their field office in Milwaukee and eventually in their Boston headquarters. After retiring from Hancock in 1993, Henry went back to school, earning an undergraduate and graduate degree in physical therapy from Ohio State University and the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

She was a member of MENSA and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including painting, ceramics, opera, classic movies and reading. She loved to play cards, board games and was devoted to her pets.

She is survived by her son, Richard Henry, of Cape Elizabeth; brother, Stephen Szaraz; sisters, Rozanne Walsh and husband Dan and Suzanne; along with many nieces and nephews.

A private gathering for family will be held at Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
