YARMOUTH — Frozen turkeys and cash donations are being accepted Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9-11 a.m., at the Log Cabin on Main Street.

American Legion Post 91, the AMVETS, VFW, and local churches will be collecting the donations for the Yarmouth Food Pantry, the Cumberland/North Yarmouth Food Pantry, and Wayside Kitchen and Rescue Program in Portland.

The goal is to collect at least 50 turkeys and $500.

“The various food pantries are our lifeline, and those of us with food on the table will hopefully share with others less fortunate,” Bert Kendall, commander of Post 91, said in an email. “Please help your local veterans assist the food pantries in our three towns and the greater Portland area before Thanksgiving.”
