HARPSWELL — Verda M. Lubee, 84, died May 10 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Bath on Jan. 12, 1930, the daughter of John and Leslie Pierce Carter. She attended Brunswick schools.

Lubee was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of the West Harpswell Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Maurice King Moody Sr. in 1972 and Austin E. Lubee in 1997.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lindsey, of Phippsburg, and Charlene Middleton, of Jefferson; son, Maurice K. Moody Jr., of Harpswell; five grandchildren, Jessica Blake, Evan Moody, Jordan Moody, Shenandoah Middleton and Mariah Rackliff; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, at 2 p.m. at the West Harpswell Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Ingle officiating. Interment was in the West Harpswell Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
