YARMOUTH — Police said a $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who allegedly robbed the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 478 U.S. Route 1 last December.

The man, described as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall,  weighing between 150 and 170 pounds, and wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, allegedly “requested and received a quantity of synthetic narcotics” from pharmacy workers on Dec. 21, 2012, police said.

The robbery was the second in two days at a pharmacy in town. On Dec. 19, 2012, a robber stole $5,000 worth of drugs from the pharmacy at the Hannaford Bros. supermarket on U.S. Route 1.

That robbery also remains unsolved. Police have said they don’t believe the two thefts are related.

They are now coordinating with the FBI on the case and are offering a confidential reward for information leading to the identification of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Yarmouth police at 846-3333.
