PORTLAND — The University of New England has received full accreditation of degree programs in pharmacy.

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education announced Monday that UNE attained the accreditation for its Doctor of Pharmacy program after an outside evaluation completed in early May and a self-study by the university, according to a press release from ACPE.

UNE’s College of Pharmacy successfully progressed through the necessary stages in the last four years, from pre-candidate status in June 2009 to candidate status in June 2010, 2011 and 2012.

The accreditation term granted for the program is valid until June 30, 2015, which is the customary two-year term for a new program receiving full accreditation status.
