SOUTH PORTLAND — Public input on ways to alleviate congestion on the Maine Turnpike will be taken in a forum from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Maine Mall.

The session hosted by the Maine Turnpike Authority will be held in the Center Court area.

Traffic volumes on the turnpike between Scarborough and Falmouth have increased 3 percent to 5 percent annually in the last three years, according to an MTA press release.

Options under consideration by MTA include park-and-ride lots; increased tolls for peak travel hours; widening other area highways, and adding a third turnpike travel lane between Exit 44 and Exit 52.

Public comment can also be submitted online through June 10 at www.maineturnpike.com/options.
