Former first lady Barbara Bush concludes a reading of “Bear Says Thanks” to about a dozen patients Monday during a visit with her Maltese poodle Mini Me to The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Portland. At left are Dustin Kimball, Olivia Blachet and 1-month-old Charlie Kimball. In March, while Blachet was 22 weeks pregnant, the couple was involved in a serious car crash in Warren and taken to Maine Medical Center. Kimball, whose mother was killed in the crash, said the family will be discharged soon.
