Travis Roy, the one-time North Yarmouth Academy hockey standout who was paralyzed 11 seconds into his first college season at Boston University, drops the ceremonial first puck Saturday at Travis Roy Arena while Tabor Academy’s Ben Taylor, left, NYA athletic director Jack Hardy and NYA’s Nick Demers look on. NYA honored Roy prior to the game with a jersey retirement ceremony. Roy played two years for the Panthers, then transferred to Tabor Academy. Since his injury, Roy has committed his life to helping others with spinal cord injuries through the Travis Roy Foundation.
