PORTLAND — Drivers on U.S Route 1 between Portland and Falmouth should expect delays all next week, starting Monday, Sept. 22, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Traffic on the new Martin’s Point Bridge will be restricted to one alternating lane while CPM Constructors installs drainage and backfill at the southwest side of the Veranda Street approach to the bridge. Drivers who want to avoid delays are advised to seek an alternate route.

The project, including full demolition of the old bridge, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
