PORTLAND — The Nova Star ferry will be open for free tours from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 10.
The tours are scheduled five days before daily trips to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, begin, and a day before the 528-foot ferry heads to Boston for its christening.
The ship has three restaurants, a casino, children’s play area and theater. Trips to Yarmouth are expected to take about 10 hours.
Government-issued photo IDs, such as driver’s licenses or passports, are required for the tours. Flat-soled shoes must be worn because of possibly slippery and uneven deck surfaces.
The Nova Star is docked at the Ocean Gateway Terminal near Commercial and Franklin streets.
