TOPSHAM — The Board of Selectmen’s Feb. 3 meeting, Cornell Knight’s first as town manager, lasted just 13 minutes.

Knight, who was town manager in Winthrop the past 12 years, replaced Jim Ashe. He said his immediate focus would be on the fiscal 2012 budget.

Selectmen approved a bid from Chelsea-based Marshall Grinding for grinding services at the transfer station. Grinding and removal of clean wood will cost $1 per ton, and the same treatment of clean demolition wood will cost $20.50 per ton.

They also reappointed Town Clerk Ruth Lyons as the town’s registrar of voters, and Phyllis Ponziani to the Finance Committee.
