TOPSHAM — A “pop-up park” party in Lower Village, planned for Sept. 10, has been delayed a month.

Summer vacations, and not enough people to prepare  for the event, caused the postponement to Oct. 1, with a rain date of Oct. 2, Assistant Planner Carol Eyerman said last week.

The temporary park – to be held in the town-owned parking lot in front of the former fire station at the corner of Main and Green streets – is intended to show what a recreational area in Lower Village might look like, Eyerman said.

She described pop-up parks in a July 11 memo to the Board of Selectmen as “generally temporary, very low-cost, flexible, mobile, highly visible and typically reclaim parking areas for pedestrian use.”
