TOPSHAM — The town plans to hold two community forums next week.

On Monday, Nov. 26, the Topsham Community Fund Committee will solicit comments on its proposed 2012 annual report, as well as recommendations for funding community development projects.

Last year’s TCF report suggested that Topsham continue allocating funding to building the next phase of the Topsham Bike Path, and said the funding effort would extend over several years. This year’s report will call for additional funding, especially from non-tax sources.

The forum will be held in the first floor meeting room at Town Hall at 6 p.m.

A Route 196 Corridor Committee forum will then be held at the Topsham Public Library at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28.

The committee was created to look into existing issues along Route 196 from Interstate 295 to the Lisbon line. Land use patterns, aesthetics, traffic, utilities, highway access, bike access and pedestrian access are included in the scope of the study, along with the interaction between different land uses. Public input is sought to focus the study, and to find specific issues that may not already be included in the overall scope.
