Topsham library presents juried photo exhibit

TOPSHAM — The Topsham Library Board of Trustees and Friends of Topsham Public Library will present the first “Joy of the Lens” photography show this spring.

The exhibit celebrates the work of year-round Maine resident photographers who are 16 and older. Categories include “People, Places and Things,” “Seascapes,” “Nature/Wildlife,” “Landscapes/Cityscapes,” “Enhanced” and “People’s Choice.”

Prizes in the juried show will be presented at an artist reception on Saturday, April 17, from 1-3 p.m. A “People’s Choice” award will be announced May 15. The public is encouraged to stop by through May 7 to vote for the People’s Choice award.

A Maine native and Colby College graduate, Alex has been covering coastal communities since 2001, and currently handles Bath, Topsham, Cumberland, and North Yarmouth. He and his wife, Lauren, live in the Portland area, and Alex recently released his third album of original music.
