TURNER — With 89 percent of the vote counted, Republican State Rep. Jeffrey Timberlake has a commanding lead over Democrat Lois Kilby-Chesley for the Senate 22 seat.

The district covers the communities of Durham, Turner, Greene, Leeds, Lisbon, Litchfield, Sabattus, Wales and Wayne.

Timberlake and Kilby-Chesley were vying for the seat left vacant by Republican State Sen. Garrett Mason, who was term-limited from running again.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Timberlake currently has 9,305 votes and Kilby-Chesley had 5,461.
