BATH — A Thomaston man who shot and killed his girlfriend in a Bath parking lot during a gun sale Nov. 16 has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter.

Dylan Grubbs, 23, was showing the gun to a prospective buyer in the parking lot of the Shaw’s supermarket on Chandler Drive when it discharged, shooting his girlfriend Chelsea Jones, 22, of Thomaston, in the head.

She died two days later in the hospital.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Grubbs was arrested at his home on Booker Street in Thomaston Feb. 11 after being indicted by a Sagadahoc County grand jury for manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Grubbs was taken to Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset. His bail was set at $75,000.
