SCARBOROUGH — Thomas P. Sesto, 58, died unexpectedly Dec. 8 at his residence.

Born in Portland, a son of Pat C. and Dorothy (Snow) Sesto, he was raised and educated in South Portland.

After he graduated from South Portland High School in 1971, he attended the University of Maine, and graduated in 1975. He also received his master’s degree in business from Husson College in Bangor.

A self-made man, he worked as a licensed real estate agent for several different companies, and was president and a director of Connote, Inc., and vice president of Magellan Resources, Inc.

Among his many hobbies were playing cribbage, fishing, cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.

He also enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions, where he collected unique and sublime art.

Predeceasing him was his first wife, Joyce Richardson, in 2010, and his father in 1986.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Barrie A. Walter of Scarborough; three children, Jill B. Ewing and her husband Jordan Smith of Pownal, Chelsea Sesto, and Alec T. Sesto, both of Scarborough; his sister, Karen E. Sesto of South Portland, and his brother, Stephen M. Sesto and his wife Joan Reddington of Portland; his mother Dorothy of South Portland; many aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins; and many lifelong friends, including Jeffrey Robertson of Scarborough.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.
