FALMOUTH — Theodore Hayes Warner, 90, died Sept. 24 at Sedgewood Commons.

On Oct. 13, 1918, he was born in Trenton, N.J.

He was educated at Lehigh University and at the American Institute of Banking at New York University.

In 1941 he joined the Army and served as a communications officer in the second armored division in North Africa and Europe for five years. He was discharged as a captain and awarded the Bronze Star and Belgian Fourragere.

After returning from the service, he worked for 18 years at the Trenton Banking Company in Trenton, N.J. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and served as director of the United Way Campaign.

In 1964 he moved to North Yarmouth and worked as senior vice president and trust officer of the Casco Bank in Portland until his retirement in 1980.

An avid tennis player, he spent part of each year at The Moorings Club in Vero Beach, Fla.

He was predeceased by his son, Theodore Hayes Warner Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann (Fleming) Warner of Portland; daughter Jane Warner Ditmars of Easton, Penn.; four grandchildren, Ann Ditmars Huyck of Paris, France, Margaret Gage Warner of Wells, Thomas Warner Ditmars of Easton, Penn., and Jacob Burbank Warner of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; son-in-law Douglas Detrick Ditmars of Easton, Penn., and daughter-in-law Sabrina Grieg Warner of North Yarmouth.

Burial will take place in Pennington, N.J. at a later date.
