CAPE ELIZABETH — The Telling Room, Maine’s only youth-focused literacy program, will be the charitable beneficiary of the 2019 TD Beach to Beacon 10K road race.
According to a news release from race officials, the Portland nonprofit whose mission is to “empower youth through writing” was founded in 2004 and offers “innovative, effective and often life-changing writing programs” for more than 4,000 kids in Maine each year.
The program was chosen by the TD Charitable Foundation of TD Bank as the recipient of an annual $30,000 award and for inclusion in future fundraising opportunities.
The 22nd running of the Beach to Beacon is Aug. 3.
