PORTLAND — Police continue to search for the suspect who robbed the Key Bank branch at 85 Auburn St. on Nov. 17.

Lt. Robert Martin said the robbery occurred around 2 p.m. when a white male armed with a black, semi-automatic handgun entered the bank and threatened staff and customers.

Martin said the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen running toward Brook Road, behind the Northgate Shopping Center.

The hunt for the suspect took police to the area of Presumpscot Street and Ocean Avenue, and portions of those roads and Middle Road in Falmouth were closed during the search, Martin said.

The suspect was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a long black wig, Martin said. Police are now working with the FBI on the investigation.

Martin said anyone with information about the robbery can call 874-8575. Anonymous tips can be made by texting 274637 with the keyword “GOTCHA, or by going to www.portland-police.com and clicking “Submit an Anonymous Crime Tip.”
