PORTLAND — Students from Deering High School’s Spanish Club are holding a spaghetti supper and silent auction on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Temple Beth El, 400 Deering St., to raise money for a service learning trip to Ecuador.
Twelve students will spend their April vacation volunteering in the village of Las Tolas, Ecuador, where they will work at organic gardening, trail blazing, teaching English in a local school and planting trees.
The event, from 5-7pm, is open to the public. Tickets will be available at the door and cost $7 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, and $20 for a family.
