FALMOUTH – This Sunday’s Library Sundae promises to be a sweet treat for young and old.

Between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on July 19, the Falmouth Memorial Library will host a summer party with antique cars and trucks, live music by Doc’s Banjo Band and valve cover races, a small vehicle race similar to the Boy Scouts’ Pinewood Derby.

Anyone with an extra valve cover can add wheels and enter the race; rules are available on the library’s Web site, falmouth.lib.me.us.

For the price of a $2.50 ticket,  guests may purchase an ice cream sundae or take a ride in one of the antique vehicles, with all proceeds to support the library. The music and races are free.
