A flock of birds takes flight over Portland on Sunday, Nov. 2, as the trailing edge of an early-season snow storm comes into view with the setting sun. The storm, which dumped deep snow on parts of northern Maine and left thousands without power, had little lasting effect on Portland, despite whiteout conditions for much of Sunday morning.
