SCARBOROUGH — Music, games, a 5k run and fireworks highlight Summerfest on Aug. 16 from 4-10 p.m. at the Clifford Mitchell Sports Complex off Gorham Road.
The free-admission festival will be held on the grass fields at the complex, with music by Lazy Gate, a dunk tank operated by Scarborough Boys Lacrosse Boosters, a rock climbing wall sponsored by Maine Rock Gym, disc golf, and extrication demonstrations by the Fire Department.
A one-mile kids race begins at 6 p.m., followed by the 5k race at 6:30 p.m. The races are sponsored by Scarborough Track and Cross Country Boosters. Registration forms are available online and runners can register the day of the races.
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m.
