YARMOUTH — A 15-year-old student at Yarmouth High School will face disciplinary action after bringing an unloaded pellet gun to school Nov. 29.

Principal Ted Hall, in an email sent to parents shortly after the incident, said he could not discuss specifics of the incident to protect the student’s confidentiality. He said the situation was addressed promptly.

Another student notified a teacher about the pellet gun, according to the email. The 15-year-old was removed from class and the pellet gun was confiscated.

Although the student was not charged with a crime for bringing the gun to school, he was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release, Yarmouth Police Chief Michael Morrill said.
