Central Maine Power Co. linemen Mike Ross, in the bucket, and Bob Taylor deal with fallen tree limbs that started a fire at the corner of Forest Avenue and Holly Street on Aug. 28 as Tropical Storm Irene passed through Portland. At one point, according to City Hall, 60 streets were without power. A storm shelter established at the Portland Expo was used by 41 people and four pets at the height of the storm.
