CAPE ELIZABETH — With several downed power lines caused by Hurricane Sandy, many residents north of the town center were still without power at midday Tuesday.

High winds flung debris and toppled trees, including a large tree that snapped and crashed into a house on Cranbrook Drive, causing exterior damage. No injuries were reported by police.

Despite temporary road closures and a few downed power lines, damage in town was minimal, Police Chief Neil Williams said. Cape Elizabeth schools were open and started on time.
