PORTLAND — Steven Ricci, 51, whose extensive record of assault and indecent conduct arrests and convictions led police to warn the public about him last month, was arrested Dec. 10 at his home.

Police Lt. James Sweatt said Ricci, who was released on probation from Windham Correctional Center in November, was arrested at his home at 915 Brighton Ave. on two charges of Class C criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Sweatt said Ricci allegedly threatened officers with a knife before cutting the electronic tracking device he was wearing as a condition of release.

The alleged incidents occurred during a scheduled meeting Ricci had with the police behavioral health coordinator and a mental health liaison. Sweatt said Ricci cut himself while cutting the GPS tracking device.

Ricci was taken to Cumberland County Jail, and police will forward a report to the Maine Probation and Parole for review, Sweatt said.
