BRUNSWICK — Stephen J. “Doza” Thibeault, 57, died unexpectedly June 27 at his home.

On April 15, 1953, he was born in Brunswick, a son of Emile J. and Carole A. Hurley Thibeault.

After he graduated from Brunswick High School in 1971, he attended the University of Maine, Orono, graduating from Beals Business College in 1976.

For several years he worked at the family business, Thibeault Express.

He later worked as a drywall contractor, and owned and operated Castaways Restaurant in Brunswick.

Since 1991 he had owned and operated Thibeault’s Tax Services.

A dedicated son and father, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, and as the eldest of seven children, led by example.  

He enjoyed following his daughter’s athletic career, attending family events and spending time with friends golfing.

His father Emile J. Thibeault Jr.,  predeceased him on Sept. 15, 1991.

Surviving are his daughter, Sierra W. Thibeault of Topsham; his mother, Carole A. Thibeault of Brunswick; four brothers, John E. Thibeault and his wife Lise of Lewiston, Gary J. Thibeault of Brunswick and sister-in-law Cathy Thibeault of Topsham, Michael R. Thibeault of West Paris, and James R. Thibeault and his wife Caroline of Topsham, and two sisters, Theresa M. Copp and her husband Rocky of Poland, and Jennifer Pinette and her husband Paul of Bowdoinham; several aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins; and many close friends, including Dick Vachon, Rusty Rancourt, “Jimbo” Gallant, John Dumont, and Tom Millay.

Memorial services were held last week.

Arrangements are by Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick.
